We are seeking a highly motivated Utilization Management Executive to join our Selangor, Malaysia office. This role is responsible for managing vessel capacity allocation, optimizing container space utilization, and supporting booking decisions to balance customer needs with operational efficiency and business objectives. The role will work closely with Sales, Logistics, Trade, Customer Service, and back-office teams to implement and adjust booking acceptance rules in an agile and competitive manner. To also support “Best Cargo” selection by analyzing historical trends, real-time demand, and vessel constraints to drive effective space optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilization Management & Cargo Selection (Time 40%)

- Oversee the utilization rate of assigned trades, optimizing cargo selection for loading according to vessel profile and guidance from the Trade and UM Manager and Commercial Head
- Ensure effective management of space management includes monitoring of booking pace, shortfall ratio, provide accurate loading forecasting
- Actively review the customer base within responsible trade routes, steering Commercial teams to hunt and foster new business relationships and expanding market reach
- Ensure customer-tier prioritization is effectively implemented in daily operations, delivering commitments for key customers as per space protection list or NRA (No Roll Assurance) VAS terms
- Create and maintain visibility for customer base diversity ratio management status trackers, such as CIF/FOB and FAK/NAC ratios, active customers amount, top 10 customers weighing. Conduct regular reviews with the management team to drive continuous improvement and strategic decision-making.
- Market Intelligence & MRG proposal (Time 20%)
- Provide high-quality and efficient market intelligence to the Trade team, supporting on providing MRG proposals according to market dynamic and customers' feedback shared by sales colleagues
- Strategy Discussion (Time 10%)

- Lead discussions with commercial teams in coordination with the Trade team, ensuring commercial strategies align with market conditions and business objectives
- Back-Office Collaboration (Time 30%)

- Collaborate closely with the Customer Service and back-office teams to confirm space and booking details, ensuring seamless coordination and operational smoothness.
MUST HAVE:
- Diploma/ Bachelor degree with 1-2 years of experience in the Maritime Industry or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Fluent in both oral and written English
- Proficient in M365
- Preferred candidate with understanding of liner shipping
- Strong organizational and coordination abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and solve problems proactively
