Are you a motivated accounting professional looking to grow your career in a dynamic international organization? We are seeking a proactive, accurate and detail-oriented Accountant to support the Finance function at PIL Togo. In this role, you will contribute to the accurate and timely processing of accounting transactions. This is a great opportunity to be part of a collaborative Finance team and contribute to operational excellence within a leading global shipping and logistics organization.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process accounting transactions accurately, including customer receipts, supplier invoices, credit notes, and supporting financial documents.
  • Manage accounts receivable and payable support activities, including payment allocation, supplier invoice verification, pending item follow-up, and customer/supplier account monitoring.
  • Review invoices, receipts, billing information, and related documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, proper approvals, and compliance with internal procedures.
  • Prepare bank, customer, and supplier reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and propose corrective actions to ensure reliable accounting records.
  • Support month-end closing activities, including accruals, cash flow preparation, aging analysis, reconciliations, and timely preparation of finance reports.
  • Maintain proper accounting records and ensure compliance with PIL policies, internal control standards, local tax requirements, audit expectations, and applicable accounting principles.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, suppliers, and customers to resolve finance-related matters and contribute to continuous improvement of accounting processes and controls. 

 

MUST HAVE:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years' relevant experience in accounting, finance operations, accounts receivable, accounts payable or a similar role.
  • Good understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, invoicing and financial controls.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel; experience with ERP or accounting systems is an advantage.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in French and English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong sense of integrity, confidentiality and accountability in handling financial information.
