We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Manager, Terminal Procurement to join our dynamic team at PIL. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our company operates terminals cost-effectively and sustainably while managing risks and fostering improvements in vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Procurement:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies and negotiations for terminals, including global terminal operators. Manage and develop relationships with vendors for optimal performance, follow-up and negotiate contracts to ensure reasonable and compliant terms and conditions for cost-effectiveness. Identify and conduct market intelligence and analysis to assess potential suppliers and their capabilities. Engage internal stakeholders to understand network and service requirements and ensure alignment.
Supplier and Risk Management:
- Conduct constant performance reviews of terminal vendors to ensure quality and reliability, including audit checks on-site. Ensure adequate resource allocation for vessels in terminals. Identify inefficiencies and assess potential operational risks by terminals that do not align with service level agreements and codes of conduct. Ensure procurement activities comply with industry regulations and company policies. Be familiar with local regulations to mitigate risks associated with procurement activities.
Sustainability Procurement:
- Familiarize with approaches and company policies on sustainable procurement, which may directly or indirectly affect meeting scorecards. Identify and support improvements in existing procurement processes while considering sustainable developments and practices that contribute positively to the company.
Cost Efficiency:
- Regularly review areas of focus, including joint efforts with local Ops leads to identify cost-efficiency initiatives. Prioritize and reduce non-essential costs through internal streamlining or external partnerships with vendors. Identify system/process misalignments to streamline and drive cost standardization.
MUST HAVE:
- Bachelor's Degree from recognized institutions, preferably in shipping or logistics.
- At least 6 years of working experience in the maritime industry.
- Strong analytical mind-set and attention to detail with the capability for critical thinking.
- Proficient in Microsoft tools such as Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Tableau/Power BI is a plus.
