We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Executive, Freight Forwarding to join our dynamic team at PIL. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in driving new business opportunities across a range of product areas, including Freight Forwarding, Contract Logistics, and Project Logistics.
 

Key Responsibilities:

Operations:

  • Assist in daily Operational coordination and documentation with freight forwarding background
  • Assist in Operational issues, troubleshoot, and problem-solving
  • To handle freight operation of all shipment modes (air, sea fcl and lcl, rail, road and multimodal) for both import and export.
  • Freight operation includes but not limit to booking, creation pre-alert, prepare shipping documentation (e.g. Bill of lading, DO), handles letter of credits, permit declaration to monitoring of shipments.
  • Lead and manage exception handling (DG, out of gauge, etc).
  • Close monitoring and updates of customer’s shipments status.
  • Ensure invoice accuracy to customer and from vendors.
  • Prepare and maintain proper records timely as required, for reporting and filing purposes.
  • Coordinate / liaise with other departments pertaining to work related matters (Business development, Finance, CL, etc)
  • Coordinate / liaise with external stakeholders (POL, POD, Office, Agent, Transporter, Carriers, Coloaders, Customers).
  • Able to support fresh setup
  • Support other adhoc tasks, new request, new customers as required.

Process Improvements

  • Define problem, data collection, data analysis, interpretation and validation where applicable according to business needs.
  • Process mapping, Draft work instruction, SOP, SOW
  • Develop business solutions from the data findings, root causes or gaps with a proper cost-benefit analysis for recommendation and facilitation of decision-making.

MUST HAVE:

  • Diploma in Logistics or Supply Chain discipline or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in logistics or operations functions, customer service, data analysis in Freight Forwarding
  • Good working knowledge and operational experience in handling documentations, coordination and negotiations
  • Able to communicate effectively across various stakeholders, both internal and external
  • Exposure to logistics-related software and systems, e.g. OMS, FMS, Cargoware, Cargowise
