We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Executive, Finance Business Controlling to join our dynamic team at Pacific International Lines (PIL). This role plays a critical part in management reporting, forecasting, variance analysis and business partnering. You will be responsible to prepare and analyse P&L reports, and leveraging on Power BI data cleasning and dashboarding experience to enhance efficiency and productivity. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Monthly Management Report/ Forecast: Lead Proforma Monthly P&L Reporting, forecasting and analysis of profitability of various liner services assigned, including the preparation of 5 Quarter rolling forecasts.  
  • Variance Analysis: Perform variance analysis of proforma P&L for current month against the prior month/forecast/budget and investigate the underlying reasons for the variance.
  • Case Study Analysis: Provide support and feedback to Trade on new deployment changes, including simulation and analysis of case study P&L with guidance from supervisors.
  • Business Partnering: Lead as business partner to Trade for all proforma P&L matters including articulating key performance statistics/ metrices/ outliers.
  • Budget: Actively participate in annual budgeting exercise for specific Trades to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and provide detail analysis of budget P&L.
  • Process Improvements & System Enhancements: Key support in enhancements to systems and processes to cater to business and reporting requirements, and strive for increased team productivity Actively participate and provide feedback on process improvements and UAT to support successful implementation of processes and system enhancements. May be assigned to lead simple process improvements and systems enhancements from time-to-time with guidance from supervisors.  
  • Digitalization and Productivity: key support in managing data, Power BI Dashboarding, controlling data to be disseminated, supporting different functions’ needs across the organization.

 

MUST HAVE:

 

    • Degree/Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Business-related disciplines.
    • Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience, preferably in financial analysis, system automation, and process improvements.
    • Experience with PowerBI. Anaplan and LMS
    • Prior experience in container shipping is highly preferred.

 

Technical skillsets:  

  • Proficiency in data analysis and forecasting.  

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PPT, Power BI, Anaplan 

  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles (e.g. Revenue, expenses and cost allocation) 

  • System automation and process improvements, digitalization 

 

Soft Skills:  

  • Strong communication skills  

  • Time management skills 

  • Show indications of leadership qualities and project management skills
