We are looking for a proactive and skilled Sales Manager to lead our sales and marketing strategy in PIL Ghana. In this pivotal role, you will work closely with the Managing Director to drive revenue growth, strengthen customer relationships, and align local initiatives with global standards. Key Responsibilities:

•    Develop and execute the national commercial strategy aligned with PIL’s global objectives.

•    Drive market penetration and revenue growth through innovative sales and marketing initiatives.
•    Provide market intelligence and competitor analysis to inform strategic decisions.
•    Manage relationships with BCOs (Beneficial Cargo Owners), NVOCCs (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carriers), freight forwarders, and strategic partners.
•    Lead pricing strategy and contract negotiations to secure profitable agreements.

•    Personally manage executive relationships with strategic accounts; lead senior sales calls and quarterly business reviews.
•    Assess account needs, decision drivers, and growth potential; translate insights into account plans, cross-sell/upsell plays, and tailored solutions
•    Coach and develop a high-performing sales team; set KPIs and monitor performance.

•    Implement structured visit plans and ensure targets are met.

•    Foster a culture of customer-centricity and continuous improvement.

•    Implement digital tools and CRM systems to optimize customer engagement and pipeline management.

•    Drive adoption of online booking platforms and self-service tools.

•    Ensure effective use of reporting dashboards and analytics for decision-making.

•    Prepare accurate forecasts and budgets; monitor performance against targets and take corrective action.

•    Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and manage commercial risks.

•    Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, and Customer Service to deliver end-to-end satisfaction. 

 

Must Have:

•    Bachelor’s degree in business, Sales/Marketing, Logistics, or related field; MBA preferred with professional qualification.
•    5–10 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or freight forwarding, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
•    Strong knowledge of liner shipping, container trade, and international trade practices.
•    Proven track record in contract negotiation, pricing, and account management.
•    Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools.
