This role provides strategic oversight and leadership for financial reporting activities across the PIL Logistics Group of Companies, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant preparation, consolidation, and presentation of financial statements. 

 

This role directs the implementation, optimization, and ongoing management of financial systems—such as GFS, Cargoware, FCCS, and OMS—by leading cross-functional teams and managing stakeholder expectations to deliver high-quality technical solutions that align with business objectives. 


Key Responsibilities

 

  • Provide strategic oversight of financial reporting activities for 23 entities within PIL Logistics, ensuring the timely, accurate, and compliant preparation, consolidation, and presentation of financial statements in accordance with internal policies and all relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Lead the implementation, optimization, and ongoing management of financial systems for 23 entities, driving the integration and alignment of advanced technology platforms to ensure robust data integrity, enhanced reporting capabilities, and operational excellence throughout all business units.
  • Design, develop, and maintain sophisticated dashboard reporting solutions, deliver real-time financial analytics, key performance indicators, and detailed variance analyses to executive management and stakeholders, thereby enabling data-driven strategic decision-making.
  • Act as a principal business partner to divisional and entity-level finance teams, fostering collaboration to identify process improvement opportunities, streamline workflows, and spearhead transformation initiatives that are consistent with the organization’s strategic objectives.
  • Championing the transformation and harmonization of financial processes, implementing standardized practices and best-in-class methodologies across all entities to drive efficiency, strengthen compliance, and support scalable growth.
  • Ensure the adoption and enforcement of global financial policies and procedures, promoting consistent practices, rigorous internal controls, and adherence to audit and industry standards across the organization.
  • Direct the review, validation, and approval of monthly and quarterly reporting packages to confirm accuracy, completeness, and alignment with group reporting standards prior to submission to senior leadership.
  • Manage the mapping and ongoing maintenance of the Chart of Accounts (COA) for PIL Logistics, guaranteeing a consistent and integrated account structure that supports precise financial reporting and analysis requirements.
  • Participant in new operation system Cargoware implementation for PIL Log Group on finance related requirement to set up and go live

 

MUST HAVE:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance; CPA/CA/ACCA (preferred).
  • Minimum 7-10 years of relevant experience in Finance and group accounting, preferably with experience in Logistics industry.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (i.e. sage Accpac and/or GFS, Cargoware etc)
  • Good understanding of financial reporting and knowledge of accounting principal
  • Knowledge of Chart of Accounts and Hierarchies
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint capability required. Access capability is a plus
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Familiarity with the container shipping industry is a plus
