Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to identify training needs of seafarers to eliminate gaps and ensure that company’s future officer needs can be satisfied through the promotion of internal candidates.
  • In collaboration with the crewing operations department, recruit and train the cadets.
  • Review the company’s cadet training program on regular basis.
  • Develop in-house training programs and courses.
  • Identify appropriate training centers and develop tailor-made training courses for seafarers in close coordination with the training centers.
  • Coordinate the administration and execution of training programs including the planning, scheduling, budget control and arrangement of facilities and materials in order to provide in-house and external training programs to seafarers.
  • Train the trainers associated with manning agents and monitor their performance so that appropriate level of training is delivered to company’s seafarers.
  • Draw out and present Training Budget annually and monitor the training programs are being conducted as per the allocated training budget.
  • Approve purchase orders and associated invoices for the various training programs in line with the presented budget.
  • Ensure the Environmental Compliance Plan (ECP) training courses are completed for ship and shore staff, and proper records are systematically updated.
  • Explore innovative solutions and training methods to continually improve health and safety performance of the fleet.
  • Identify and verify potential external training providers and manning agents that would contribute to company’s safety and competency aspirations and make proposals for possible cooperation.
  • Value Addition Trainings, Identifying GAPS in skills/knowledge and training requirements, Ensuring Company has future ready officers. Training needs for future technologies.
  • Provide guidance to technical for navigation matters as a Master Mariner once required.

 

 

MUST HAVE:

  • Diploma or Degree Holder of a relevant discipline (Marine Navigation/Engineering etc.)
  • Holder of COC Class 1 (Unlimited FG).
  • 5 - 10 years of relevant experience
  • Experienced in Training, Port Operations. Ship Management, and Crewing related matters
  • Following experience would be relevant and preferable:
  • Experience as Master or Chief Engineer onboard Ocean-going vessels.
  • Experience as Crew Manager or Crew Training Manager
