We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head of Entity, PIL Logistics (Nigeria) to join our dynamic team at PIL. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in establishing and growing our new business segment focused on providing door-to-door logistics solutions across West Africa.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development: Source and capitalize on business opportunities within the logistics space, leveraging a minimum of 10 years of experience in bringing new business to the organization.
  • Set Up Logistics Entities: Lead the setup of new logistics entities in the local country, with the ability to source reliable warehouses, trucking needs, including trucks and drivers, through a strong network of relevant contacts.
  • Intermodal Logistics: Develop and manage intermodal logistics products, identifying opportunities for seamless integration of different modes of transportation.
  • Cross-Border Expertise: Utilize strong knowledge of cross-border requirements to ensure smooth and compliant operations across national boundaries.
  • Shipping and Port Operations: Apply in-depth knowledge of shipping and port operations to enhance the efficiency of logistics services.
  • Port Authority Management: Effectively manage relationships with port authorities to facilitate smooth and efficient operations.
  • Develop and manage intermodal service products for key account customers, ensuring service excellence from start to finish.
  • Establish and grow a robust sales funnel, converting high-potential leads into long-term customers.
  • Optimize earnings by modelling end-to-end costs and profit margins.
  • Provide differentiated levels of service that enhance customer loyalty and retention.

MUST HAVE:

  • Proven experience in leading a company or a sales/operations department within the logistics sector.
  • Experience working in leading logistics companies such as DHL, Ceva Logistics, Bollore Logistics, or Damco Logistics.
  • Extensive knowledge of the East/West African logistics market.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
  • High emotional intelligence with excellent people management abilities.
