We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head of Agency to lead our operations in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in setting up and managing the PIL agency office, driving business growth, and ensuring operational and financial excellence in alignment with our corporate vision.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Office Setup and Leadership
    • Establish the PIL agency office in Dammam, including sourcing suitable office space and recruiting a capable team.
    • Provide visionary leadership to develop and grow PIL’s business in the region.
    • Optimize team performance through strategic headcount planning, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  2. Strategic and Commercial Oversight
    • Formulate and execute business strategies to achieve agency scorecardsbudgets, and business plans.
    • Drive revenue growth and profitability by owning the P&L and delivering on all financial and commercial targets.
    • Identify market opportunities and address risks through proactive problem-solving and strategic decision-making.
  3. Operational Efficiency
    • Streamline and improve business processes to ensure cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency.
    • Oversee equipment managementport, and terminal operations, ensuring seamless service delivery.
    • Ensure compliance with tax, regulatory, and labor laws, aligned with PIL Group’s policies.
  4. Financial Management
    • Manage working capital effectively, including cash flow and debtor control, while ensuring financial stability.
    • Prepare, monitor, and optimize approved budgets, minimizing financial exposure.
    • Drive efficiency in financial reporting and ensure timely submission of reports.
  5. Team Development and Governance
    • Coach and mentor team members to build a sustainable and high-performing workforce.
    • Cultivate a culture of accountability, ensuring adherence to corporate governance standards.
    • Maintain a diverse, inclusive, and future-ready talent pipeline.

 

MUST HAVE:

  • Industry Experience: At least 10 years of general management experience with full P&L responsibility, ideally in container/liner shipping or a related industry.
  • Office Setup Expertise: Proven ability to set up and manage new offices, including infrastructure and staffing.
  • Commercial Acumen: Hands-on experience in commercial and sales functions, with a strong focus on driving business growth.
  • Emerging Markets Exposure: Familiarity with the challenges and opportunities in emerging markets.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership skills with a hands-on approach to management
