We are seeking an experienced HR & Administration Manager to manage human resources and administrative operations for our Maputo office. This role will oversee recruitment, employee lifecycle management, payroll, performance processes, and office administration, ensuring compliance with local labor laws and company standards. The ideal candidate will have strong HR expertise, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Business Partnering & Talent Acquisition

  • Partner with business leaders to address day-to-day people-related matters and support operational needs.
  • Manage recruitment and the full employee lifecycle, ensuring effective retention and engagement.
  • Coordinate with HR HQ COEs on talent management, compensation, benefits, and HR processes.
  • Handle end-to-end hiring for all departments, including interviews, salary negotiations, and internal transfers.
  • Maintain relationships with recruitment partners to ensure consistency and cost efficiency.

 

Compensation & Benefits

  • Prepare and review monthly payroll accurately and on time.
  • Ensure compensation and benefits packages remain aligned with market standards.
  • Maintain personnel records and manage HRIS updates.

 

Financial & Reporting Support

  • Monitor administrative budgets and implement cost-control measures.
  • Prepare regular reports on compliance, operational efficiency, and administrative KPIs.

 

Performance Management

  • Coordinate the performance appraisal process, salary reviews, and career development discussions.
  • Support management in implementing talent development action plans.

 

Training & Talent Development

  • Work with managers to identify training needs and assist with individual development plans.
  • Contribute to succession planning for key roles in collaboration with line managers.

 

Employee Relations

  • Promote a positive workplace environment through effective communication and engagement.
  • Manage employee relations and disciplinary matters, ensuring fair and timely resolution.
  • Support line managers in coaching and performance improvement initiatives.

 

Office & Facilities Management

  • Oversee office facilities, property, vehicles, security, and general administrative operations.

 

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Assist in executing HR strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Ensure smooth HR and administrative operations with compliance and efficiency.
  • Contribute to fostering an engaged, high-performance workplace culture.
  • Recommend improvements in HR and administrative processes, adopting best practices.
  • Stay informed on labour laws and ensure compliance across HR and administrative functions.

 

MUST HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5–7 years of relevant HR experience, preferably within a multinational or global organization.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, employee relations, and disciplinary procedures.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with experience managing and developing teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and Portuguese.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
