Job Responsibilities

 

 

  • Responsible for the Vessel Management of Group fleet of vessels are of optimum performance to support the business needs and meet international maritime industry rules and regulations. You would oversee preventive Maintenance, dry docks and new builds, vessel procurement, manpower planning and fleet development in your role as well.
  • Manage and develop Fleet team of Managers and DGMs in ensuring high level of maintenance for our vessels to achieve optimum performance and sea worthiness.
  • Lead, formulate and see through the strategy for the fleet digital transformation initiatives and energy efficiency initiatives
  • Oversees review, selection and delivery of new builds based on technical specification, rules and regulations and company policies.
  • Responsible for effective management of budgets, ensuring ship crew are equipped with updated knowledge for application on board vessel inspection of fleet conditions per ISM requirements and attending to related projects assigned.
  • Attend vessels in port and anchorage, liaising with Master / Chief Engineer on vessel maintenance issues and survey plans, and reviewing & monitoring requisitions for spare parts.
  • Ensure the companies’ repair and maintenance policies for operations and dry docking, bunkering operations procedures and processes and HSE policies are developed and effectively implemented
  • Ensure safe and high quality dry-dockings of PIL managed vessel and dry dock budget alignment across fleet groups
  • Conduct trend analysis and make decisions on various aspects of fleet management.
  • Partake in various cross-divisional initiatives.
  • Safeguard PIL’s interest by monitoring and influencing the development of regulations at the IMO
  • To perform other duties and tasks as assigned

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Maritime Studies, maritime operations or a related field.
  • Seafaring Chief Engineer (COC1) with at least 20 years related managerial skills with minimum 5 years of experience in ship management or a related field.
  • Good stake-holders management skills, self-driven and resourceful team player with proven communication skills, able to mentor & train the team.
  • Experience in handling and managing alternative low carbon fueled ships such as LNG or Methanol fueled ships will be required.
  • Experience with dealing with Dual Fuel (DF) vessel management, new build vessel delivery or must have sailed as an Engineer on ships with DF propulsion systems.
  • In depth knowledge on dry docking in line with industry standards, including class, flag and other regulatory/statutory requirements.
  • Familiarity with ISM /ISPS/CSO and kept abreast of maritime developments.
