Pacific International Lines (PIL) is looking for a meticulous and analytical General Ledger (GL) Executive to support financial integrity and ensure accurate reporting for our Côte d’Ivoire operations. If you enjoy structure, accuracy, and working with numbers to make sure the books are clean, compliant, and audit-ready, this role is for you.

 

Key Responsibilities:

The GL Executive is responsible for maintaining the general ledger, performing accurate reconciliations, supporting month-end closing, and ensuring alignment between the financial system and operational records. This role works closely with the AR/Cashier Executive, AP Executive, Documentation (Invoicing) team, and the Finance Manager.        

 

General Ledger & Accounting Control

  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure all accounting entries are accurate, complete, and compliant. 
  • Prepare and post journal entries including accruals, provisions, adjustments, prepayments, and depreciation.
  • Review and validate entries posted by AR, AP, and other functions.

Reconciliations

  • Perform monthly reconciliations of key balance sheet accounts (bank, AR, AP, intercompany, taxes, petty cash, fixed assets, etc.).
  • Identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and coordinate corrections.
  • Ensure reconciliation files are properly documented, signed, and archived.  

Month-End Closing & Reporting

  • Support month-end and year-end closing to meet PIL and WARO deadlines.  
  • Prepare trial balance reviews and variance explanations.
  • Assist the Finance Manager in generating monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).

 

Compliance, Audit & Controls

  • Ensure compliance with IFRS/SYSCOHADA, company policies, and internal controls.
  • Prepare audit schedules and support internal and external audits.
  • Contribute to strengthening financial controls and process improvements.

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Coordinate with the Documentation (Invoicing) team to ensure invoicing data is fully reflected in the financial system.
  •  Support the AP and AR/Cashier teams in ensuring accurate posting and reconciliations.
  • Provide financial data and explanations to the Finance Manager as needed.

 

MUST HAVE:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. 
  • 2–4 years’ experience in accounting or general ledger roles, ideally in logistics/shipping or multinational environments.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial controls.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent). 
  • Excellent Excel and analytical skills.
  • High attention to detail, organization, and accuracy. 
  • Fluency in French and English. 
  • Experience working in unionized environment.
