We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented GL Accountant to join our team at PIL Cameroun. This individual will play a key role in controlling financial flows related to freight collection, vessel disbursements, logistics operations, and fund repatriations. The ideal candidate will show accuracy, reliability and compliance of the company accounting and financial records in accordance with OHADA accounting standards, local tax and regulatory requirements (BEAC, DGI, CNPS), and group procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise all accounting entries (customers, suppliers, banks, payroll, fixed assets).
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations, including BEAC accounts and international transfers.
• Ensure proper cost allocation by activity (shipping, agency, freight, logistics, warehousing).
• Manage the fixed assets ledger (acquisitions, depreciation, disposals).
• Prepare monthly and annual closing entries in line with group deadlines.
• Monitor daily cash movements and ensure compliance with BEAC regulations.
• Follow up on client collections and supplier payments.
• Prepare cash forecasts, analyze variances, and propose corrective actions.
• Coordinate repatriation of freight funds and provide supporting documents for BEAC clearance.
• Prepare and file monthly and annual tax declarations (VAT, WHT, corporate tax, etc.).
• Ensure full compliance with BEAC, DGI, CNPS, and Customs obligations.
• Support tax audits and provide required documentation.
• Monitor regulatory changes in the maritime and logistics environment.
• Produce monthly management accounts and financial statements for internal and group reporting.
• Support external and internal audits (group auditors, statutory auditors, BEAC inspections).
• Provide profitability analysis by activity (port calls, logistics operations, freight lines).
• Contribute to improving internal control and accounting procedures.
MUST HAVE:
• Master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Audit (DSCG, Master CCA, or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years, including at least 3 years in the maritime, port, or logistics sector.
• Strong knowledge of SYSCOHADA, IFRS, and Cameroonian tax laws.
• Proficient in accounting software (Sage SAARI, SAP, or equivalent) and advanced Excel.
• Discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive information.
• Team spirit and adaptability.
