PIL is expanding its commercial presence in Côte d’Ivoire (Abidjan) and we’re seeking a dynamic, results driven External Sales Executive. This is a role for a high energy professional who thrives on the hunt, opens doors with confidence, and is motivated by winning new business. The successful candidate will be a natural dealmaker who excels at building relationships, exploring new markets, and turning opportunities into revenue. This role is for a candidate who can hustle, with sharp instincts, and the determination to overcome challenges — a sales leader who never settles for “no.” You’ll drive growth by acquiring new customers, expanding strategic accounts, and strengthening PIL’s market presence in Côte d’Ivoire.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Hunting
• Identify and pursue new customers, new markets, and new cargo opportunities across Côte d’Ivoire.
• Conduct regular field visits to prospect, pitch, and convert leads to active customers.
• Build a strong commercial pipeline and maintain an active portfolio of opportunities.
• Develop strategies to win business from competitors and grow PIL’s market presence.
Customer Relationship Management
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, freight forwarders, and key decision-makers.
• Understand customer needs and provide tailored shipping and logistics solutions.
• Ensure customer satisfaction and support retention of newly acquired accounts.
Revenue Growth & Performance
• Achieve and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
• Prepare and deliver high-impact sales presentations and commercial proposals.
• Track performance KPIs and report progress to the Commercial Manager.
Market Intelligence & Commercial Insight
• Stay informed on market trends, competitor activity, and trade dynamics.
• Provide feedback and insights to help shape PIL Côte d’Ivoire’s commercial strategy.
• Identify new sectors, corridors, and high-potential commodities for growth.
MUST HAVE:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Logistics, International Trade, or related field.
• 3-5 years proven experience in sales or business development, ideally in shipping, logistics, freight forwarding, or related industries.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and persuasion skills.
• A natural hunter mindset — persistent, confident, self-driven, and opportunity-obsessed.
WE VALUE:
• Ability to work independently, organize field activity, and manage a personal sales pipeline.
• Fluent in French and English.
• Skilled in Excel and other Microsoft office tools.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel frequently within the country.
• Professionalism, resilience, and the ability to thrive under pressure.
