The Electrical Superintendent will ensure PIL Fleet Vessels’ electrical reliability, regulatory compliance and cost-effective operations through preventive maintenance and cross-functional leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support ship for remote troubleshooting of electrical, electronic, automation, and control systems onboard with timely response and follow up by email/mobile.
- Analyse major electrical breakdowns/ failures, identify root causes and preventive measures to develop long-term asset management strategies.
- Participate in incident investigations and ISM audits related to electrical systems.
- Develop and implement processes and procedures for technical and safety aspects of electrical and electronic equipment.
- Develop and implement plans for electrical system maintenance and upgrades within budget constraints.
- Conduct onboard inspections to identify and resolve electrical issues.
- Conduct regular vessel inspections to assess condition of the electrical systems on board.
- Assist in the recruitment and training programs for Electro Technical Officers (ETO) and trainees.
- Develop and implement a mentoring program for junior ETOs, plan the training program annually.
- Assist with electrical system maintenance and electrical retrofit/ modification projects during drydocking and service as relevant.
- Ensure the quality of services provided by shipyards, suppliers, and workshops aligns with regulatory standards and client expectations.
MUST HAVE:
- Self-driven and resourceful team player with proven communication skills,
- Seafaring Electrical Engineers with at least 5 years related managerial skills.
- Good operational knowledge on electrical maintenance & repairs, investigation of shipboard electrical failures and compliance with statutory requirements.
- Analytical approach & data driven.
- Moderate communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
