Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Oversee service performance including load factor, cargo mix, customer selection, vessel profile, and equipment situation, ensuring optimal utilisation and profitability.
- Supervise pricing across MRG, Spot, and Tender business; set and review rate guidelines and surcharges in line with market and commercial strategy.
- Perform yield management to optimise TEU utilisation, cargo mix, and overall service P&L, including strategies to encourage light cargo where appropriate.
- Monitor market conditions and rate trends; analyse and translate insights into actionable commercial initiatives.
- Manage BSA space allocation for assigned ports and key accounts, and review customer free time requests and other commercial matters.
- Prepare revenue forecasts, trade volume projections, and monthly trade performance reports, including contribution margin analysis.
- Independently conduct P&L studies for existing service refinements (e.g. port additions, vessel add/drop) and perform sanity checks on new service studies.
- Work closely with overseas branches, agencies, and BCD TDP to address COA cost issues, contribution anomalies, and ongoing commercial actions.
- Support trade and service development initiatives, including feasibility studies, business development projects, and service revamps.
- Provide guidance to junior team members, deputise for the Trade Manager when required, and support senior management engagements including overseas business trips.
Job Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Business or equivalent with minimum 5 years of experience within similar role
- Proficient in Excel & PowerPoint
- Strong analytical, negotiation and communication skills
- Meticulous, outgoing personality, assertive and ability to work under tight deadlines
- Able to multi-task and work independently
