We are looking for a strategic and experienced Fleet Procurement and Category Manager to lead procurement and category management across our global fleet. This role is responsible for overseeing sourcing activities related to new vessel construction, dry dockings, marine projects, and day-to-day operational procurement. The ideal candidate will drive cost efficiency, ensure supplier performance, and align procurement strategies with the company’s technical and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement category strategies for shipbuilding, marine equipment, and technical services.
- Lead procurement planning and execution for new builds, conversions, and dry dock projects.
- Manage sourcing and contract negotiations for fleet operations, including spares, consumables, and services.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships; monitor performance and ensure compliance with SLAs.
- Collaborate with technical, operations, and finance teams to align procurement with project and operational needs.
- Conduct market analysis and benchmarking to identify cost-saving opportunities and innovations.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies, maritime regulations, and risk management frameworks.
- Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes and supplier performance.
MUST HAVE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Marine Engineering, Business, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in marine or fleet procurement, with a strong focus on shipbuilding and operations.
- Proven track record in category management, supplier negotiations, and contract execution.
- Familiarity with shipyard operations, classification societies, and maritime compliance standards.
- Experience working in a global, cross-functional environment.
