Section lead in the Global Sustainability & ESG (GSE) department which is tasked with the mission to imbue sustainability in all key aspects of business operations as well as achieving all compliance required as a world class shipping line committed to greener shipping practices.
This role leads the ESG Engagement and Partnerships (EEP) Section which focuses on the meaningful engagement of stakeholders and cultivating partnerships to drive sustainability initiatives and projects which span across sustainability and ESG domains. This global role oversees HQ, regional offices, and their affiliated entities, with responsibilities covering sustainability and ESG matters.
This role will be based in Singapore with occasional travel required.
Roles & Responsibilities:
This role leads the EEP section and supports AGM (GSE) in developing, managing and delivering initiatives and projects across sustainability and ESG domains as part of GSE’s workplan. Main responsibilities of this role include:
- Development and implementation of sustainable procurement practices and initiatives across the Group.
- 
- Lead the driving of Group-wide adoption of sustainable procurement practices, dovetailing with the directives of PIL Group Procurement Committee (GPC).
- Lead the planning and organisation of PIL Supplier engagement activities and initiatives to advance key suppliers’ ESG performance.
 
- ESG learning and stakeholder engagement initiatives to promote awareness and active participation in sustainability practices across the Group.
- 
- Lead the implementation of Group-wide climate and ESG learning, including the development, rollout, and ongoing enhancement of educational programs to build awareness and capabilities across all levels of the organization.
- Lead the global implementation of ESG initiatives and frameworks throughout the Group, including overseeing the ESG performance of global entities as part of entity scorecard submissions.
 
- Enhance PIL Group’s sustainability performance in social aspects, including areas on labour and human rights and DEI
- 
- Lead the implementation of Group-wide labour and human rights risk assessments and measures, including compliance with global due diligence requirements
- Lead the collaboration with Group HR in the implementation of living wage review and implementation.
- Lead the development of PIL standards and diversity, equity and inclusion related initiatives.
 
- Develop and execute group ESG Strategy and sustainability initiatives aligned with PIL’s key sustainability priorities, while fostering meaningful engagement and strong relationships with key stakeholders:
 - Support the preparation and publication of annual sustainability report and communication of ESG performance.
- Support the annual Ecovadis questionnaire submission, ensuring comprehensive and transparent communication of ESG performance aspects
 
- Advance Group’s Community Impact material topic via PIL Fairwinds Initiative to drive Positive social and environmental impact through strategic grant-giving Initiatives
 - Support the planning and execution of ESG engagement activities for PIL HQ participants.
 
Support the delivery of global grant-giving & community engagement initiatives.
- Support the department in other corporate sustainability initiatives and activities where relevant.
Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in:
- Sustainability-related disciplines (preferred); or
- Engineering/Finance/Accountancy/Business
 
- Advanced degrees or relevant certifications (e.g., GRI, CSR-P, FSA, CFA ESG) are advantageous.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant prior working experience (for degree holders) or 7 years of working experience (for diploma holders) in at least three of the following areas/sectors:
- Corporate sustainability reporting & assurance
- Stakeholder engagement & change management
- Sustainable procurement
- Social sustainability management
- ESG regulatory compliance & governance
- Data analytics & digital tools for ESG
- Community Impact & Grant Management
 
- Demonstrated experience with ESG frameworks (GRI, SASB, TCFD, UN SDGs, ISO 20400) and project management in sustainability contexts are advantageous.
- Experience in the shipping, logistics, or maritime sector will be beneficial.
