Job Responsibilities
As Data Privacy Manager, you will be at the forefront of strengthening and operationalising PIL’s global data protection programme. Working closely with the Global Data Protection Officer, you will lead the execution of privacy controls across more than 45 jurisdictions and partner with business units to ensure compliance with evolving laws such as GDPR, PIPL, and PDPA.
This role offers the chance to combine hands-on operational leadership with global strategic exposure, shaping how privacy supports transformation projects including HRSS deployment, BPO, payroll outsourcing, and AI initiatives.
- Programme Implementation
- Translate global data protection strategy into operational controls across HR, ISD, and business units.
- Drive data inventory, data flow mapping, and cross-border transfer assessments to ensure compliance across jurisdictions.
- Perform quality assurance on deliverables (DPIAs, TIAs, vendor assessments) prior to DPO review.
- Cross-Border Compliance
- Lead compliance on data transfer mechanisms, including SCCs, localisation requirements, and other jurisdiction-specific rules.
- Support global operations by identifying and mitigating transfer risks in a complex regulatory landscape.
- Vendor Due Diligence
- Manage third-party risk assessments, contract reviews, and ongoing vendor compliance monitoring.
- Partner with Procurement and business units to embed privacy requirements into supplier and outsourcing arrangements.
- DPIA Oversight
- Oversee end-to-end DPIA reviews, ensuring timely completion and follow-up of remediation actions, and maintain central DPIA records.
- Coordinate and consolidate DPIA reviews across business units; escalate complex issues to DPO or Counsel.
- Policy & Training
- Develop privacy guidance, templates, playbooks and training modules.
- Deliver engaging training and awareness programmes, fostering a strong culture of privacy across PIL.
- Monitoring & Reporting
- Track and report compliance KPIs to the Global DPO and senior stakeholders.
- Support responses to regulatory queries, audits, and inspections.
- Advisory Support
Act as a trusted advisor on privacy-by-design for projects, system implementations, and HR/operational initiatives.
