Job Responsibilities

Job summary: Contribute to the development and refinement of the company's long-term liner business strategic plan and collaborate with senior leadership and internal stakeholders from Trades and Network departments to harness their strategic vision and industry expertise. Assume a lead role for a single workstream, structuring approaches and orchestrating the combined efforts of the team across all phases – from initial research and comprehensive analysis (qualitative and quantitative) to planning and execution. Deliver impactful recommendations that drive sustained profitability and growth, ensuring the liner business remains a cornerstone of the company's long-term success.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in developing and implementing liner’s strategic plan
  2. Structure, lead and contribute to strategic studies and initiatives for PIL Liner
  3. Lead preparation of presentation slides and status updates for relevant stakeholders
  4. Gain insights into the performance of the business and recommend improvements, through analysis of internal and external sources of data (e.g., LMS, Anaplan, Container Trade Statistics, Accenture Cargo)
  5. Track progress of strategic initiatives and workflow initiatives with business analytics team to develop dashboards and presentations
  6. Manage external subscriptions where TDP is the business owner (e.g., Container Trade Statistics, Drewry Container Forecaster, Dynamar)
  7. Lead workstream related to the Demand portion of Line Management’s “Monthly Monitor” reporting by working closely with Trades to analyze datasets. Collaborate with the Supply side workstream to synthesize Supply & Demand to generate insights on the overall impact on freight rates.
  8. Any other ad-hoc duties or projects related to line management strategic planning & advanced analytics as assigned by supervisor

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Economics, Business, Accounting, or related disciplines of a quantitative nature
  • Prior relevant working experience 
  • Experience with project management methodologies is a plus
  • Business/Functional/Industry knowledge (e.g., Supply Chain, Pricing/Trades, Network Planning, Commercial, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excel for data analysis (e.g., Pivot Tables, PowerQuery)
  • Dashboarding tools (e.g., PowerBI or Tableau)
  • Familiarity with SQL, Python or R is a plus
