We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Manager, Reporting to join our dynamic team at Pacific International Lines (PIL). This role plays a critical part to drive continuous process improvement for the Group Financial Reporting and Accounting team. As a business partner, you will provide a good mix of support for monthly financial reporting, and introduction and roll-out of new reporting and analytics technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all the needed information in order to prepare journal entries
- Review and approve journal entries
- Analyze the GL with the reporting manager to prepare any correcting journal entries if needed
- Prepare and/or review monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Identify and drive process improvements, aimed at increasing efficiency and standardization
- Support the monthly accounting and reporting process (with SSC)
- Ensure alignment on priorities and direction by partnering with supervisors
- Leverage on financial systems, databases and other source systems to automate reporting for both financial results and projects.
- Drive operational efficiencies through tooling and automation.
- Prepare and issue monthly management reporting with use of dashboards prior to the required submission date
- Heavily involved in process improvement and project implementation
- Involve in and support the budgeting process
- Provide support and information to internal tax team and external auditors for statutory reporting requirements
- Perform other financial responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
MUST HAVE:
- Degree/Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Business-related disciplines, preferably with a CPA
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of relevant reporting experience, preferably with expertise in developing dashboards, automated journals and identifying issues
- Advanced knowledge and experience with Power BI, Tableau, Macros, Robotics Process Automation
- Experience with financial systems (Oracle, FCCS)
- Prior experience in container shipping is highly preferred.
