Assistant Manager, Pricing and Commercial, Global Project Cargo

Job Responsibilities
Job Summary: As a Pricing and Commercial Assistant Manager for the Global Project Cargo team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing pricing and yield management strategies, as well as developing key accounts specializing in project cargoes. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including frontline Sales, Operations, and HQ Liner, to ensure the profitability and competitiveness of OOG and breakbulk business. Your role will be crucial in achieving revenue targets, enhancing customer satisfaction, and maintaining PIL position as a key competitor in the project cargo landscape.
- Establish and manage pricing guideline and rates for out of gauge and breakbulk “OOG and BB” cargo, taking into account market trends, competition, cost structures, and profit objectives
- Maintains regular communication with Trade / Regional Office / Local Agents on business outlook cargo projections, space allocation and equipment requirements for OOG/BB
- Continuously evaluate and optimize pricing models and strategies to maximize revenue and profitability, while balancing customer demands, market dynamics and vessel utilization
- Utilize data and analytics tools to analyze pricing performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and provide insightful recommendations to senior management
- Provide guidance to sales agents on OOG/BB booking approval, and LMS booking processes to ensure quick booking turnaround time
- Market Analysis to access current/future demand, supply, and competition for OOG/BB
- Establish strong network with local agents and customers to better understand customer preference and tailor to specific needs Conduct feasibility studies on pricing strategies and trade services, and be involved in OOG and BB business development plan and other trade commercial projects
- Expand PIL’s customer base for project cargoes by harnessing on strong customer service support, product offerings and develop relationship with strategic customers specializing in this niche sector
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Maritime, Business, Logistics, or a related Field
- Possess at least 3 years of experience in pricing management or related roles within the shipping, logistics, or maritime industry, preferably with expertise in OOG and Breakbulk cargo
- In-depth knowledge of pricing strategies, market dynamics, and industry practices in the shipping and transportation sector
