We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Manager, Group Tax to join our Group Tax team at Pacific International Lines (PIL). This role plays a critical role in assisting with a portfolio of direct and indirect tax matters in compliance with tax regulations. You will also be responsible to support the review of tax disclosures, filings and disputes faced by the Group. You will also support in researching and providing support on potential tax implications for the business, and contribute to review of work processes for efficiency.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Assist with the preparation and review of a portfolio of local direct and indirect tax filings in accordance to the tax requirements, including working with stakeholders to advise and ensure compliance with all tax disclosures, tax filings and reporting requirements;
  • Act as a point of contact and provide support for the reviews by / disputes with tax authorities;
  • Assist in researching and gathering insights and trends around global tax and/or transfer pricing development, and provide support on evaluating potential tax implications as business needs and plans evolve;
  • Assist with the review and improvement of work processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

 

Risk Management:

 

  • Assist with providing guidance on correct tax treatment to colleagues.
  • Aid with the research and evaluation of mitigation strategies to reduce tax risk for the Group.

 

Stakeholder Management:

 

  • Foster good relationships with key external advisors to enhance collaboration with specialized tax expertise.
  • Support the communication with stakeholders on tax implications of business decisions, contributing to informed and strategic decision-making.

 

Process Improvement:

 

  • Support the continuous improvement of tax compliance and reporting procedures.

 

MUST HAVE:

 

  • Degree in relevant disciplines such as Accountingm Finance or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant expertise as tax professional, demonstrating experience indirect and/or indirect tax compliance  
  • Proficiency in tax compliance and reporting
