We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant General Manager, Group Financial Reporting and Accounting to join our dynamic team at Pacific International Lines (PIL). This role plays a critical role and will be leading the financial reporting and consolidation team. You will act as a change ambassador for a newly implemented ERP system and process harmonization.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

 

  • Direct the preparation and strategic review of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS/SFRS and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Oversee complex accounting recognition and interpretation of technical accounting standards and engage experts where necessary.
  • Manage consolidation processes for a diverse group of entities, ensuring robust intercompany reconciliations and eliminations.
  • Manage the intercompany discrepancy reporting process and ASA reconciliations monthly
  • Approve journals and monthly account reconciliations on a timely basis
  • Provide guidance in the intercompany accounting process as a business partner to the other business units
  • Ensure compliance with reporting requirements, including the preparation and review of financials and other submissions to meet stringent deadlines.
  • Manage and coordinate external audits, serving as the primary liaison and strategic partner for auditors, ensuring efficient and compliant audit processes.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic business decisions, capital allocation, and performance management.

 

Internal Controls, Governance & Compliance:

 

  • Design, implement, and continuously enhance a robust framework of internal financial controls to safeguard company assets, ensure data integrity, and mitigate financial risks.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards (e.g., IFRS/SFRS), corporate governance principles, and local statutory requirements.
  • Align local entities’ accounting standards to IFRS
  • Support internal audit and remediation of control

 

Financial Operations & Process Optimisation:

 

  • Oversee and optimise general ledger management.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve financial processes, systems, and controls, leveraging technology for enhanced efficiency and accuracy.

 

Leadership:

 

  • Lead, mentor, and strategically develop a high-performing and agile accounting and financial reporting team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous professional growth.
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence across all finance functions, promoting innovation and efficiency.

 

 

MUST HAVE:

 

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business-related disciplines, preferably with a CPA/ACCA
  • Minimum 12-15 years of relevant progressive experience in Finance, with at least 5 years in a global / regional leadership role  
  • Strong understanding and kept abreast of financial and accounting reporting standards, as well as regulatory changes
