We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Account Receivable Excutive to join our dynamic team at PIL Cameroon. The successful candidate will be at the heart of our receivables management process. He will engage with customers, negotiate practical payment solutions, resolve account issues and help ensure that outstanding balances are collected efficiently, professionally and in full compliance with internal policies and applicable legal procedures.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the recovery of outstanding receivables through structured, proactive and professional follow-up with customers.
  • Build constructive relationships with debtors while negotiating realistic payment solutions, including partial payments, installment plans or extended deadlines.
  • Take ownership of overdue accounts and contribute directly to improved cash collection, reduced aging receivables and stronger financial performance.
  • Monitor debtor accounts daily and keep accurate records of recovery actions, payment commitments and settlement agreements in the accounting system.
  • Work closely with Finance to ensure payments are accurately allocated against outstanding invoices.
  • Assess debtor solvency, identify high-risk accounts and recommend timely escalation for legal or external collection action where required.
  • Partner with Sales, Operations, Documentation and Finance teams to investigate and resolve billing disputes or account discrepancies.
  • Maintain reliable documentation of debtor interactions, commitments, payments received and collection actions to support transparency and audit readiness.
  • Prepare clear reports on outstanding receivables, collection progress, overdue balances and recovery performance for management review.
  • Ensure collection practices are carried out with integrity and in compliance with internal credit policies, ethical standards and local legal requirements.
  • Support both amicable recovery efforts and, where necessary, judicial collection processes in coordination with management, legal teams or external partners.
  • Contribute ideas to improve collection efficiency, strengthen internal controls and enhance the overall receivables management process.
     

MUST HAVE:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Law or a related field
  • 2–4 years of experience in debt collection, accounts receivable management, credit control or a similar finance role
  • A solid understanding of credit management, receivables monitoring and debt recovery practices
  • Experience in amicable and/or judicial debt collection procedures would be a strong advantage
  • Hands-on experience with ERP, accounting systems or customer databases such as SAP, Oracle or equivalent
  • Strong negotiation, persuasion and communication skills
  • The confidence to manage difficult conversations with professionalism, tact and composure
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a disciplined approach to reporting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • A good command of English and French would be an advantag
